ACT Alliance demands governments to close three crucial gaps in UN climate talks immediately
A week has already passed in one of the world's biggest talking-shops. Yet the United Nations climate negotiations in Durban have yet to reach decisions on key issues affecting millions of the world's poorest people. The governments holding up the process need to become far more ambitious in the five remaining days, says one of the world's largest faith-based development networks, ACT Alliance, of which ICCO is a member. Ministers with power and accountability to their people must now achieve what their technocrats didn't last week.

Social Accountability International (SAI) and the Interchurch Organisation for Development Cooperation (ICCO) are pleased to announce the launch of a collaborative project to operationalize the Guiding Principles on Business and Human Rights. SAI, with support from ICCO, will develop a handbook and training program based on the framework. The focus will be on helping businesses develop and implement management systems to operationalize the Guiding Principles in their supply chain. The handbook will also include a step-by-step guide with sample documents, and advice for how companies can scale the system to their own size and level of risk.
ICCO will not change policy after discussion with Dutch foreign minister
Thursday the 13th of January ICCO discussed its funding of the website The Electronic Intifada with Dutch Minister of Foreign Affairs Uri Rosenthal. It was a tough and straightforward discussion, but ICCO sees no reason to change its policy. International law is the main guideline for ICCO's work.

ICCO and ForeFinanceTM signed an agreement which improves access to finance for agricultural producer organizations in developing countries. ICCO, the Dutch based inter church organization for development cooperation, will support ForeFinanceTM for the three years till 2013.
